Week 7

Autumn Treasures and Black History month

Still image for this video

We’ve had such a busy week exploring our autumn treasures and thank you to our parents and carers for supporting children with their home learning. This week we froze our autumn treasures and investigated ways of breaking the ice, melting and tapping it with a real hammer. We have talked about autumn and why the leaves fall from the trees, thinking about seasonal changes.

Black history month has been amazing, we talked about how we are different, the colours of our skin, hair, clothing and beliefs of others, this has been a great learning link to our RE curriculum. In Art we have looked closely at African masks, learning how to design and paint our masks using earthy and vibrant colours. We have also learnt how to outline our Art to make it stand out.

After the halftime term...

We are getting ready for Diwali and we can’t wait to learn about how families will come together to celebrate the festival of light. Have a wonderful half term and we will see you next week.
