Our Week in Reception Elm🌿✨

What a lovely week it has been this week in Reception!⭐️
 

We have been focussing on subitising numbers to 5 (where we can say/know how many of something there are without counting them) in many different ways. The children have absolutely blown us away with how amazing they are at subitising and have shown such an enjoyment in doing so, which makes us extremely happy🤩.

Also this week, we have been carrying out a number of exciting writing challenges throughout the provision✏️. The children have been going off and writing on post-it notes labels for objects, short sentences such as ‘a cat on a mat’ and secret messages (which they loved to sneak around with and share with their friends)🔍.

The children have been exploring different emotions and how their moods change/are affected in their Think Equals sessions. They loved to act out what each emotion looks like and place their name on the Mood Meter to show which emotion they felt most strongly😁🙁😡😅.
