This week has been jam packed with child led learning. The children were so excited to bring their ‘nature treasure chests’ to school and absolutely loved showing and telling the class about their findings. It inspired us to do some writing using this week’s tricky word ‘have’ in our sentence ‘In my chest I have...’. We then went on another nature hunt to see what goodies we could find in our outdoor area, the children found feathers, flowers, insects and all sorts of leaves! We enjoyed doing some observational paintings of the flowers we found, looking carefully at the colours, shapes and textures we could see.
We we have made the most of the sunny weather by taking our phonics outside and loved labelling using post it notes! In maths we have been practicing counting in 2s and 10s by creating peg number lines. We enjoyed taking it in turns to be the teacher and hiding a number from our friends so they could guess which one was missing.
We have also got stuck into some more capoeira, experimenting with movement and even learning some Portuguese!
