Week 3
Year 1 Ash
This week was science week! We had the best time celebrating this with a science day on Wednesday. We learnt all about the different parts of the human body and then explored our five senses. We taste tested jelly beans, lemon and ginger (the ginger definitely wasn’t a fan favourite!) and put our hands into a mystery feely box, where we felt lots of funny things, including a prickly brush, a wet carrot and sticky PlayDoh. It felt so strange to touch these things without being able to see what they were! We also made some beautiful animal fact files as part of science this week. In English this week, we have been writing our own instructions on how to hold a chick, after being lucky enough to have a go at holding chicks ourselves on World Book Day last Thursday! Some children even challenged themselves to include adverbs, e.g. ‘First sit on a chair comfortably.’
