What have we been up to?
We have had another fun-packed week in Year 1, and we were so happy to get our parents involved in some of our fun activities! We had a great time sharing our phonics bingo session with them and making yummy fruit skewers as part of our rights day. We were just like Healthy Henry!
We have been gymnasts in PE and Polly Problem Solvers in maths, solving tricky word problems and using our addition learning to help us with these. In English, we have researched some different animals in preparation for writing our own non-chronological reports next week! Our phonics sounds were ‘ie’ (pie/cried) and ‘i_e’ (like/time).
As scientists we investigated three materials - water, fabric and wood and thought of adjectives we could use to describe their properties. It was so interesting to find that some types of wood feel smooth (the wooden art table), whilst others feel rough (the bark of a tree in our outdoor area).
We had an excellent Friday being artists in the Atelier and celebrating Children in Need! We loved wearing our spotty clothes and accessories and learning about why Children in Need is such an important cause.
