THE GINGERBREAD MAN 

We have started reading our core text the Gingerbread Man and this has hooked Reception in for our talk for writing. We have loved learning the story using actions and we’re going to continue the story next week adding more actions. We can’t wait to show you! 

In maths we’ve been creating repeating patterns in many different ways, using our critical thinking skills to explore patterns that do not repeat. We also looked at exploring patterns in rangoli mats henna designs. You should see our masterpieces! 
 

DIWALI

Reception have been focusing on people and communities, finding out what a festival is and things that are special to us in our own homes. We learnt about the Diwali, the festival of light and we celebrated this in an assembly and in our class. We listened to the story of Rami and Sita and we wished our friends lots of luck and happiness. We finished the week with a celebration of Diwali dancing and food tasting.

We have shared our learning in our RE book, its going to have a special place in our Reading Nook so we can look back at our special times and events
