Welcome to Year 1 Beech Dinosaur Museum

What a fabulous dinosaur museum we had in our classroom this afternoon. The children used the resources in our stem area to create their own masterpiece.

They even created a name for their dinosaur!

Project MUD!

WOW!

What a muddy morning we had today!

We loved making mud dinosaurs, smashing Dino ice eggs with hammers, making a dinosaur habitat, making dinosaur footprints and splashing in muddy puddles!

To finish it off we all enjoyed a hot chocolate.

What a wonderful morning had by all!

We love learning about dinosaurs!

We had a super afternoon in the provision, using the books and laptops to research facts about dinosaurs! We also did some amazing sketching and went on a fossil dig in the outdoor classroom!

Shapes!

This week we had to sort shapes in different ways. We looked at 2D shapes and 3D shapes. We looked at their properties and described these to our talk partners.

We then went on a shape hunt around the school to see what we could find!
