Another fantastic week in Reception Oak! We have begun looking at our new story focus ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. We loved hearing about Max - King of the Wild Things and this led us to making our own crowns and writing independent sentences that told everyone that WE are kings and queens of the wild things!
On Thursday something very interesting happened. We found a poor bee that needed our help, the children showed great care and compassion for the bee and we made sure to help him. We provided him with some sugar and water to build his energy and were delighted when he was then able to fly away! But we didn’t stop there! We wrote stories, letters and even made ‘save the bees’ posters to help more bees! Some super child led learning!
In maths we have been solving doubling and halving problems using objects.
