Week 2
Super Readers and Maths Fun📚✨
It has been a great first full week of the Spring term, filled with lots of fun learning opportunities where we have made the most of the winter weather!
We have started our Phase 3 Phonics sounds this week looking at ‘j’, ‘v’ and ‘w’. We have been practising writing some wonderful sentences using words containing these sounds through exciting phonics challenges🤩. The children have blown me away with their writing and ability to recall sentences! In maths, we have been looking at our 2D shapes and went on a terrific shape hunt around our school🔍.
Also, we have been focussing on nature, specifically birds🦉🦅. In art, we have been doing some observational drawings of images from our focus text ‘The Lost Words’ using coloured pencils. The children are so creative and their attention to detail is inspiring✨.
In the outdoor area, we have been looking at the birds that have delighted us with their visits and at the winter setting❄️🦜. Those with wellies have been energetically jumping around in the great big puddles outside and competed with others to see who could make the biggest splash☔️💦.
Have a lovely weekend and keep reading!📚
