Summer 2

Can we save the planet?

After spending summer 1 exploring our blue planet and everything to do with the sea, we will spend summer 2 looking at the land!

One thing we already know is that we need to work hard to protect our wonderful planet! We will be reading the book 'George Saves The World By Lunchtime' to find ways we can practically help to protect and repair our world.

We will focus on our rights (UNICEF) and our super learners as we try to make the world a better place for everyone and everything that lives and grows here.

Our T4W story for next half term will be 'Jack and the Beanstalk' - we will be learning the story and the actions to match and some of us will even have a go at writing our own versions! We will talk about the different characters, the setting and use our story language to retell the traditional tale. You can have a watch of one version of 'Jack and The Beanstalk' below!

Inspired by our T4W story, in science, we will plant our own beans and monitor how they grow and change - we will also talk about the ways in which WE have grown and changed since starting in reception all the way back in September.

In maths we will look at measuring (length, weight and height) and doubling and halving!

Towards the end of the term we will begin to prepare reception for their transition into Year 1!
