What an super picnic we had today! We have been learning all about instructions this week. We wrote out step by step instructions as a class on how to make a sandwich, then we did this individually before today carrying out these instructions.
Thank you to all of the grown ups who could make it today or who brought in food for us all to enjoy- we had a great time!
In nursery we have been reading and listening to a range of different stories, as well as learning lots of the Talk for Writing phrases and actions to build up the structure in our stories. What a super job! Please go to the Video page on the website to watch/listen to the rest of the amazing stories!
Today for our welly walk we each took our own plastic bag to fill with exciting things! The children collected a range of materials from the playground to use as props to support their story-telling at the end of this week! The materials will create the setting, and will be in our story with our character that we have made and our car.
What an amazing day today was!
We all had so much fun taking part in a wide range of sports to raise money for our school and what a super job we did! Thank you to all parents who have donated so far towards the sponsors, we can't wait to see how much all of our hard work had made for the school!
We would like to wish all of our families celebrating Eid over the next few days a happy celebration! We are excited to hear all about it next week!
Over the last couple of days, nursery have been very busy learning all about different emergency vehicles. We matched them up to their owners and then we even made our own versions!
Welly Walk Wednesday!
On our welly walk this week, we had a challenge to do! Somebody had cut up all of Miss Curbishley's pictures!! We had to go and find the head, body and feet and match the people back up again! We had police officers, fire fighters, doctors, nurses and all sorts of other professional people. We looked very closely at the uniform that they all wore and the differences of these. What super coco collaborating!
Nursery were very excited to get some very special visitors on Tuesday. Two police officers came with their police car to teach us all about what they do for their job. We were able to sit in the car, hear the siren, see the blue lights flashing, try on the uniform and we even all had our finger print taken which we got to take home with us. Nursery also learnt about what it is that police do as part of their job and what number we must ring if we are ever in 'serious' trouble. What a super visit!
Wow, what super day we had today for family celebration day! A big thank you to our Daddies, Grandads and Mummies who came to join us today. We hope you have as much fun as we did and we wish you all a lovely Father's Day on Sunday!
The video can be found on the Video page of the website!
Today for our welly walk we went on the hunt for some pictures. All of the children found one picture each and then we had to listen carefully to hear the initial sound of our picture. The children were amazing at hearing the sounds and matching them to the correct letter. What superstars!
A visit from Alfie's mummy
We were lucky to have Alfie's mum come into nursery and talk all about her not one, but two jobs! Alfie's mummy talked to all of the boys and girls about her job as a nail technician, showing them her beautiful nails, and also about her job as a teacher. The children asked different questions and some of us even had our own nail varnish on already from home!
Thank you Alfie's mummy!
The children have fully got stuck in with our role play opportunities in nursery since being back. We have had lots of doctors looking after our 'poorly patients' and shopkeepers selling fruit and vegetables to their customers. We have been getting involved in role play, mark making, numbers, understanding the world, making relationships and lots more - all without even realising!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Before half term, we asked the children what they want to be when they grow up. During this topic we are going to be learning about a variety of different occupations and then asking the children again at the end. Will they give the same answers?! We shall see!
