Congratulations Reema and Tilly on your certificates.
Well done Lilly-May and Jaiden for receiving your certificates today!
We all enjoyed our Royal wedding lunch outside in the sunshine.
Sandwiches, cakes, juice, ice cream and a sea of red, white and blue!
Just when we thought maths could not get any better or more fun! Fractions with cupcakes! First cut them in half and then into quarters. Eat them a quarter at a time.
Well done Maryam and Theo you have worked very hard this week.
Friday yoga is so good for our karma!
What an amazing spaceship you made boys!
In maths we have been learning to find, recognise and name a half of on object, shape or quantity. We really enjoyed moulding the play dough into different shapes and then cutting it in half to make two equal pieces, two halves.
We have enjoyed making story maps this week, to help us write the story 'Baboon on the Moon'. We didn't let the sunshine go to waste though, as we used our outdoor literacy area to make some of the maps.
Well done to Michael and Skylar-Jai for achieving certificates for your great work this week!!
We had a great time in the forest school area on Friday after our yoga session, eating birthday cake from Lilli and drinking hot chocolate while we listened to a story out in the sunshine.
This weeks maths was multiplication and division using Cheerios. We made arrays which made problem solving and counting much easier and then we shared different numbers of Cheerios between two. We found that you can only share even numbers equally between two. Mrs Barber had another interesting fact, one box of Cheerios shared between thirty children during one maths lesson equals zero Cheerios left! Yum yum 😋
Congratulations to Ellie-Mai and Luca on their achievement certificates this week.
An amazing afternoon at Flixton Girls school.
We had a fantastic time with lots of multi-skills activities to take part in.
It was very well organised by the staff and Year 7 girls, who explained all the activities clearly and then helped us have lots of fun.
The weather was very kind to us as well!!
Well done to all the children for having a go at everything, showing their talents and best behaviour all afternoon.
Very proud of you all.
Jodrell Bank
We had an amazing time at Jodrell Bank and learnt so much about our space topic.
Here are some of the photographs we took on the day.
Congratulations to Ella-Grace and Subhan for all their super work this week and receiving the class certificates. Well done both of you.
Also abig well done to Elliott, Autumn and Amber for their great homework, it was a tough
decision as there was some fantastic space homework this week from everyone.
What a wonderful relaxing well-being Friday!
We had our first yoga lesson with Mrs Harrison. I wonder if the children can remember some of our poses? Will this jog their memory; stick, reach for the sun, elephant, 1,2,3, and stick?
We followed the yoga session with time spent outdoors, reading and sharing activities with our friends.
SPACE
This week we used the laptops in class and researched some interesting facts for our topic on space. We used this website to learn some facts https://www.esa.int/esaKIDSen/
Why not have a go at exploring yourself!
We are learning how to use multiplication in maths. We worked in pairs and used egg boxes and counters to help us double numbers to 10.
We found out it is really important to be able to count in 2's, 5's and 10's to make solving problems easier.
Please check your child's book bag for the letter we sent home about our class trip to Jodrell Bank, which is Tuesday 24th April.
Our topic this half term is
SPACE
We are going to be looking at facts and information about the solar system, famous astronauts like Tim Peake and lots more.
