Sports Relief! What a super day full of sporty activities.
Our trip to Victoria Park was fantastic. We looked for the signs of spring around the park and found a fairy door at the end! We had hot chocolate and biscuits when we got back to school. Thank you to all the parents for coming and enjoying the walk with us. And well done children for being such fabulous Safety Spikes!
Well done for all of your hard work Mekhi and Alaiza!
Using watercolour for the first time, sketching real flowers and drawing from a picture. We are artists in 1 Ash!
We have learnt all about volume and capacity this week. We can use the words 'empty, full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty' and can measure the capacity of containers with units.
Well done to Amber and Layla this week for all their hard work!
We've been being Moss Park Measurers again! This time we've learnt all about weight. We can use the language heavy, heavier, heaviest and light, lighter and lightest! One of our challenges this week was to find an object that was heavier than a pencil but lighter than a dictionary! Then, began to measure objects in cubes. If they were the same weight, they were equal, and the scales were balanced!
And the final mystery reader is...
Isla's mummy! Thank you for reading The First Hippo on the Moon to us. We had so much fun joining in with the story!
Well done to all our children this week for their hard work. A special well done to our Oscar winners for their amazing writing this week!
Thank you parents for coming to our class assembly, we loved having you!
World Book Day
And the mystery reader is...
Ilyaas' mum! Thank you for reading Monkey Puzzle to us!
Thank you to Matt for coming in and doing poetry with us. We loved writing a poem about when we play outside.
And today's Mystery Reader is...
Gia's mummy! Thank you for reading Room on the Broom to us. We loved it so much.
Continuing our Book Week celebrations, we have been learning maths through stories today!
I'm a number cruncher and my name is Steven,
I like numbers if they're even!
I think numbers taste just great,
If they end in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8!
I'm a number cruncher and my name is Todd,
I like numbers if they're odd!
I think numbers taste just fine,
And they end in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9!
And the Mystery Reader is...
Nathan's Mummy! Thank you so much for reading to us, we loved your story 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'.
The Day the Crayons Quit!
Today, one by one the different crayons stormed into assembly explaining why they were quitting! 1 Ash had to persuade the Pink Crayon that she shouldn't quit, and wrote a persuasive letter.
Chinese New Year celebrations!
Look what appeared in 1 Ash! We went on a goodies hunt around school to help Little Red Riding Hood, and made Wanted posters for the Wolf!
Well done to this weeks child and superlearner of the week!
Counting in 2s!
We have been learning the rules of counting in 2s this week. Remember - they are even numbers. Can you remember what they end in? Practise our favourite counting in 2s song at home!
Counting by 2s
It's a skip counting song by 2s. This is designed to help with early years numeracy and sight words for numbers. This song was written and performed by A.J. Jenkins. Video by KidsTV123. Copyright 2015 A.J.Jenkins/KidsTV123: All rights reserved.
