Sports Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

At Moss Park Infant School being active and healthy are both of great importance within our curriculum.  Through PE and Sport our children learn to develop the important qualities of discipline, resilience, communication, team work, and ambition, leading to improved concentration, attitude, and academic achievement. Yoga lesson and spending time outdoors within our wonderful spaces also gives children the much needed time to  care for their mental wellbeing too.

The Government’s announcement to provide additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools was very much welcomed. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside widening opportunities for sporting links with other local schools and developing the school grounds, giving as many opportunities for children to be active as possible.

What does the Sport Premium mean for our children?

‘Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this’

(DfE June 2013).
