Reception Elm - Mrs Peters

Welcome to Reception Elm Class Page

HOME LEARNING

Dear Reception Elm Children and Parents

We hope you are all well and keeping safe at home. We are still here and we will provide you with lots of challenges and fun via the website.

We will update the website each day by 9am and try to provide enjoyable and engaging ways for you to learn at home. Please click on the 'HOME LEARNING ICON' for the daily updates on our class page.  As much as we hope you enjoy and have a go at these activities, the most important thing is that you look after each other, stay safe and have fun. Please work through the learning packs at your own leisure and enjoy family time.

Take care,

Mrs Peters and Miss Centi

Reading

Guided reading takes place on a Monday with Mrs Peters and 1-1 reading is supported by Miss Centi. 2 or 3 Reading books and library books will be changed on a Monday, however children can change their book as often as they wish to. It is the expectation that reading at home should be at least 3 times a week and reading diaries must be signed.

SODA

Parents or Carers are invited into class for for relax and read sessions on Mondays and Fridays for the first 10 minutes of the day. Please feel free to come in and support children for start of the day reading.

A home learning task will be sent home on a Friday and can be returned by Wednesday.

Children are expected to read a few high frequency words a week.

School Fund

If you would like to make a donation, please put this in a named envelope and send to school.

Outdoor Learning

We are very lucky to have our very own outdoor classroom and Forest School, where children get to take safe risks, problem solve and learn about their natural environment. It it essential that children get frequent and regular opportunities to explore outdoors, as this supports children’s learning and development.

Please ensure children arrive at school with a warm coat, hat and gloves ready for their outdoor adventures.

Thank you for your continued support
