Welcome to Reception Oak

I hope you have had a lovely time over the summer and I am sure that you are now ready to start the new school year. I would also like to say a warm welcome to the new children and their families that are joining us this year. I am looking forward to working together so that we have a productive and exciting year. Please find below some information before the school starts on the 4th September and we do hope that your child will lead a happy, fulfilling and successful time at Moss Park Infants. Please do not hesitate to come and see me before school if you have any questions or queries. I will give you more details of the curriculum during the information meeting on the 25th September at 5pm-6pm (details to follow).

Transition to School

Our aim is to ensure that the children experience a smooth transition and build positive relationships with adults and peers. Learning through play will continue to be an integral part of our school day. The children will also work in groups to promote motivated, enthused and eager learners and have opportunities for independent learning time. We welcome children into school at 8.50 am and school ends at 3.20pm. Many children enjoy the security of a parent coming into the classroom with them, but as soon as they have developed sufficient confidence, it is good to allow them greater independence and say a quick goodbye. As a school we promote reading for pleasure and encourage Parents to stay for relax and read sessions on Mondays and Fridays for the first 10 minutes of the day.
