Reception Key Information
Transition to School
Our aim is to ensure that the children experience a smooth transition and build positive relationships with adults and peers. Learning through play will continue to be an integral part of our school day. The children will also work in groups to promote motivated, enthused and eager learners and have opportunities for independent learning time. We welcome children into school at 8.50 am and school ends at 3.20pm. Many children enjoy the security of a parent coming into the classroom with them, but as soon as they have developed sufficient confidence, it is good to allow them greater independence and say a quick goodbye. As a school we promote reading for pleasure and encourage Parents to stay for relax and read sessions on Mondays and Fridays for the first 10 minutes of the day.
