At Moss Park Infants children explore different artists and techniques and build their own skill set. We provide these opportunities in a range of settings such as our outdoor areas, our purpose built ‘Atelier’ and the classroom environments. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and provide opportunities to create using natural resources such as in our STEM areas and outdoor classrooms.  We recognise the importance of children having the opportunity to create and express themselves through art and the benefits of this on their mental health. As well as developing new skills based on the work of established artists children have the opportunity to apply these skills freely using their own imagination. Children work with a range of materials and tools in art & DT lessons as well as independently in their classroom provision. Children have the chance to reflect on their work and talk about what they have achieved, what they could do differently and what they would like to do next.
