Good Morning Everyone!
Today's challenge will be going on a nature scavenger hunt! You can do this in your garden or in the park. Even if the weather is a bit wet, it is still fun to get wrapped up and head outside!
When you find the things on the list, look closely at the detail, if it is a creature you can look at how it moves and travels too.
Have fun!
Wednesday 22.7.20
Good morning everyone! We hope you have enjoyed the challenges so far this week!
Please find today's below!
Observational nature drawings
Can you go on a walk to the park or in to your garden do to some observational drawings? This means looking very closely at the shape, detail and colour of the things you are drawing.
You could collect some lovely things to draw in the garden OR you could take your drawing tools to the park with you! If you can't get outside you could collect some interesting natural things in your home such as fruit and vegetables!
If drawing at home you could put on some relaxing music.
Dont forget to take your time and look closely!

Tuesday 21.7.20
Terrific Tuesday!
This week, if we were in school, we would be winding down and enjoying our final time together before you all move on to year one! So this week we will set one or two activities a day for you to enjoy with your families at home.
Potion making!
Using an old plastic bottle, a jar or a mixing bowl you can make a natural potion!
You could go for a walk in the park to find ingredients for your potion, but make sure you check with your grown ups before picking things up.
Once you have made a potion can you write a list of all the ingredients?
Does you potion smell? What colour is it? Is it thick? Is it smooth? - Write a sentence (or more than one!) to describe your potion!
'It is ...'
'My potion is...'

“In strange times, one of the most important things for me is to not lose the ability to play and create. The outdoors provides us all with a wealth of wonder to explore and experience, it is the largest artist studio in the world, and it’s free. Never forget to stop, look, experience and play.” — James Brunt - Artist
We would LOVE you to take part in the BIG outdoor art challenge - getting outside in all weathers is great for wellbeing and learning. Please visit the website below for more details and share any of your creations with us via email or twitter!

If you made a ladder like this Natural Art. Where would your ladder take you? If I had a ladder it would take me to a magical castle.

Happy Friday everyone! We hope you have had a good week!
Most of you will have now accessed the 'Transition page' to find out all about your exciting move to year one.
Even though it is a big and exciting move, you can look at all the pictures and videos on the transition pages and talk to your grown ups to help you feel prepared.
Below are some activities and stories to work through together to help you process any feelings or worries you might have.
Can you make a thoughts and questions jar?
With your grown up, write down any questions, worries or thoughts you have about moving to year one on slips of paper. Fold each piece of paper and pop it in your jar or bowl.
Together, you can open up these slips of paper one at a time, you can talk about what you have written down and answer any questions you might have.
Any time you think of another thought or question about school you can pop it in your jar and figure it out together!

You can involve your grown up!
(Jumping, skipping, running, hopping)

Read 1 book a day (Or more!)
You could try reading it in a new place each day!
Make a den! Make sure you ask your grown ups what you can use to make this!
It could be a great place to tell stories...
Take part in an egg and spoon race!...You could even organise your own sports day!
Potato printing patterns! Think about what colours and shapes you can use to create your pattern. Sponges and other hard vegetables can be great for printing in different shapes too!
Make a fairy potion! Remember to check with your grown ups what you can put into it! You could even have a go at writing your fairy recipe down!
I have been hearing more and more birds singing every day! Could you make a bird feeder to put in your garden or outside your window?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/makes/bird-feeder
I wonder if you get any little visitors! Maybe you could find out what they are called and have a go at drawing them?
Make a nature book! Could you fill each page with something you can see in your garden or out of your window?
This week I have seen blossom, birds and a bumblebee!
You could have a go at labelling your picture and if you want an extra challenge write a fact about each thing you have seen! This could be a project to work on over the week.
Easter Activities!
We hope that you are all staying safe and enjoying each other's company. Below you will find a selection of Easter and spring activities to have a go at at your own leisure.
Enjoy!
Could you make a fairy garden?
Could you dissect a flower to discover all of it's different parts?
Could you make a blossom tree picture? You could use broccoli to make it like this one!
Making transient art Easter egg patterns!
Painting flowers using forks! Or maybe you could use something else that is not a paint brush?
Could you do an observational drawing of a Daffodil or other flower/plant? Like we practised in the Atelier at school!
Go on a bug hunt in the garden! You could make a bug hunt for someone in your family. What can they find?
Making chocolate nests! There are lots of recipes online, but here is one suggestion:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/eastereggnests_93841
Making Easter or spring bunting for your house!
Make a self portrait using natural materials!
Make an Easter card for someone in your family. Is there someone you can't see at the moment? Maybe you could make them a card and write them a special message inside?
