Thank you so much to all our lovely Grandparents for making our Grandparents afternoon so amazing. The children loved you visiting our classroom.

Well done to our VIP, homework stars, gold prize winners, child of the week and superlearner of the week

Well done to our Super Learner and Child of the Week Louis and Samiyah. Also well done to Anna for fantastic work in her learning log.

Well done Cassia for making it to our VIP table for excellent behaviour at lunchtime.

Our Autumn Walk

Today we went on an Autumn walk in the Reception garden, our forest school, nursery gardens and the playground. We had an exciting time being little explorers, collecting leaves, twigs, conkers, pine cones, acorns and we even saw a squirrel! We then came back to our classroom and investigated and observed what we found.

Well done Ted our VIP this week for excellent behaviour at lunchtime!

This week we have all been just like Susie Super Learner, Polly Problem Solver and Indie Independent. The children have an amazing attitude to learning and this is evident in all their fantastic work.

Wow! Another amazing week in Reception.

This week we have been writing our own story maps about the lovely story So Much. We have been acting the story out and we now know all the words and actions! This is going to help us so much next week we will be writing our own story.

We have been very busy in phonics learning new sounds and learning how to blend to make new words. In maths we have been counting and matching to the correct number and ordering numbers to ten and beyond. The children have a fantastic ethos for learning and this shows in their exploration of the activities in their learning environments indoors and outdoors.

Well done to our super learner, child of the week and VIP

Lots of super learning going on in Reception Oak

So Much

Today we began our journey of learning the story 'So Much'. We read the story, made our own class story map, acted out the story and also wrote some key words.

We had great fun taking part in Locomotion, moving with control and coordination. We played lots of warm up games being different kinds of beans, jelly, broad and runner beans! We then played the gears game changing gears and moving at different speeds. Mr Daniels thought we all amazing moving with super confidence.

We will be reading some lovely stories, using mirrors to look at detailed features on our faces and talking about people who are special in our families. The first book we will be focussing on and doing lots of work about is a beautiful family book called
