Christmas is coming!
What busy bee’s we’ve been this week, it’s been none stop!
We kicked off our week with a wonderful session in the outdoor classroom,
collecting winter delights to water and freeze for our science investigation. We observed how the sun melts the water, we predicted change and talked about the frosty weather. We didn’t just stop there, we subertertised using the hidden berries in our ice sculptures. Did you know you can subertise by recognising a set of numbers without counting them?
We continued our maths measuring the ingredients to make gingerbread
men and we iced our little men too. They were yummy! 😋😋😋
We can even tell the story so well using our talk for writing actions.
Phonics has been lots of fun this week, we looked for Christmas gifts outdoors and we found the letters to match the gift. We were able to work as a team to sound out the word and put the letters together correctly. So far we’ve found a...robin, a sack and a bell!
We decorated the Christmas tree and created our own trees. In topic we found out about robins, what they like to eat, their eggs, how many feathers they have and how many years they live for.
In reading - we practised using our fingers to make a reading window, we found these words - he, she, we, be, me. Our message centre has been loaded with labels, passwords and simple sentences. We are super proud of all our class, let’s keep up the good work.
Have a lovely winter weekend everyone, wrap up warm and stay safe!
