WOW what a week of HOT sun and lots of laughter!
This week much of our learning has been based around characters that we drew with Nick Sharrat. We started our week creating silly sentences about Waggy the doggy and Betty the Jetty, then the magic happened... Reception have been so inspired that they're creating riddles with actions and all sorts of funny stories are emerging.
We just love their creativity, humour and love of learning!
Our Polly Problem Solvers have been super busy taking on our maths challenges outdoors, lots of doubles, halving adding and subtracting using yummy cherrios and pasta. You could even try this challenge at home!
As always our little learners have been very engaged in child initiated learning. We've had children creating block houses, bridges, motorways and dens for shelter from the sun. Reception never fail to impress us with their home reading and practice of letters and sounds.
Today Ms Lavin took her maternity leave slightly earlier, I'm sure you'll join us to wish her a restful and relaxing break before her baby arrives. A huge thank you to Ms Lavin for her hard work and commitment as a teacher during these uncertain times. We hope to see her very soon!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Peters and Miss Warden
