It has been so wonderful having (most of!) the children back in school!
They have been so happy to be reunited with their friends and teachers and be back learning in their classroom! It is so lovely to feel the buzz of learning through school once again. We can't wait to have a full class here on Monday!
This week we have continued to explore the story 'The Little Red Hen' and have been working on writing independent sentences. We are using our 'High Five Rule' in school - 1. Capital letters 2. finger spaces 3. sound it out 4. read it back and 5. full stops! This really helps us to build our beautiful sentences and is something you can use at home too!
In maths we have been finding ways to make 5 and 10 - we have even been using our maths to build nests for chicks!
Next week we will be delving into the season of Spring - as well as talking about all of the seasons of the year and the changes we see as they come and go. We will be looking at the daffodil flower and labelling some of its parts.
We also have our belated 'World Book Day' celebrations on Thursday where children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character! This is always a very fun and exciting day and really celebrates the magic of books!
Once again a huge well done to all the children (and parents) for your work at home and we are so proud of how the children have returned back to school this week!
