I am very excited to be your child's Year 1 teacher, and working with you both this year. This page will be where you can find all the information you need for the year ahead, and will be regularly updated with pictures of your child's learning in school. If there is anything that the webpage does not answer for you, please feel free to arrange a meeting with me any time.
Miss Graham :)
Every day routines
School starts at 8.50am prompt, this is a time for parents to come into school and work for 10 minutes with the children. The children love this time with you. We always have SODA (start of day activities) for you and your child to complete together. School finishes at 3.30pm please be on time to pick up your child. Please can your child bring in their book bag every day to school. Thank you.
Your child has a colour levelled reading book that they will change in school with an adult. If your child has read their book and needs a new one, please put it into the basket by the door at the start of the day along with their reading record. Please read with your child ideally every day, but as often as possible. Reading in Year 1 opens so many opportunities and is fundamental to their learning.
Homework will be sent out every Friday, please return the homework by the Wednesday so that it can be marked.
Year 1 will be having PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Please send your child to school with a full school PE kit. Plain white tshirt, black/blue shorts, pumps. This can stay in school until the end of each half term. Thank you.
There will be a celebration assembly on a Friday each week. 2 children from each class are selected for a certificate. If your child has been chosen, you will receive a text on the Wednesday before. Each week there will be a Homework Star of the Week presented in our Friday Celebration Assembly.
