Thank you to Jackson, our school council member, for writing a special letter to the Mayor - lets hope he/she can visit our school during our singathon day!
The school council have now chosen the names for our pet Guinea Pigs. Taken from the suggestions of all the children in our school.
They are called Coco and Susie (Coco Collaborator & Susie Super Learner)
So, we are creating an outdoor classroom School council - your mission is to decide on what we need to do next!
So far, the school council decided we needed; reading areas, writing areas, messy play, water play and PETS!!!!!
School council need to decide on;
How we raise more money?
What animals are we going to adopt and how do we look after them?
Do we arrange an open event for our outdoor classroom? who will we invite?
We have a lot of work to do
Week 1 of Autumn 2
The school council have been interviewing the children at Moss Park Infant School to find out about how much they know about our super learners.
The children in our school have a fantastic understanding about the super learners - they could talk about each super learner and how they each help us to make the right choices and be the best we can be.
The school council met today. We got into groups and we went round school with our clip boards. We looked very official! We looked at all the book areas. We decided what we liked about them.
These are some of our findings.
the comfy cushions. (Cameron liked the red ones)
the books being organised into baskets
Iman liked everything about all the book areas.
The children chose their favourite book area, both reception classes. Well done Miss Cowgill and Mrs Elliott.
The school council did it! After lots of discussion they have chosen a school motto.
Moss Park is a place to learn, love and laugh.
Wow, this was a tough decision! We had so many children who applied for the school council. A HUGE well done to each and everyone of you.
Every child who applied will receive a certificate during the assembly on Friday. Children who did not make the school council will also have the opportunity to become an ECO Warrior or a member of the Healthy School Squad. We will ask the children and keep you posted.
The school council will consist of 12 children from across reception, year 1 and year 2. They would normally be in post for the year, however, we may review this after 6 months. (It takes young children along time to build up confidence in this role)
This week they will discuss the 'musts' of being a member of the school council - the children will bring a copy home for parents to read and sign. A big 'must' is amazing behaviour, after all, they are role models for the school.
The children were chosen in consultation with myself, Mrs Plant and class teachers. We are happy that we have a real 'mix' of children to represent our school.
A picture of the school council will be on this page. If you (parents) don't want a picture of your child on this page - you MUST tell the school office. I have phoned parents to check - so hopefully we can have them all on.
First job for the council;
We need a new school motto
